Translation from English to German and from German to English
German Translation – German & English Language Pair
HumanTranslation, Your Partner in Quality Translations
If you google “translation agency”, you will find a great multitude of them. How to choose the one you can trust?
Well, the easiest thing to do is to try our translation service German – English (or English – German, for that matter). Order a small piece and see whether the quality is good enough to meet your expectations.
There are two components of a good result: people and process. And translation industry is no exception.
- We have a team of qualified translations who have been working with us for several years, and some of them even for decades. They have come a long way with us, and they are prepared to deliver a good job to you. However, don’t believe us at once when we say that they are excellent specialists. Try and make your own judgment.
- Second, no matter how excellent your specialists are, you must have a certain working process in place to make sure that the text passes through several stages, and receives a certain kind of “polishing” at each stage. Your text is translated and read afterward by the translator, then it gets into the editor’s hands to be read meticulously, with all dubious places clarified and restated.
- Finally, it is given to the proofreader that makes the final touches on the work of art before it is handed over to you.
Once again, this is something that is happening behind the scenes, but the proof of the pudding is in eating. Send your text to our manager and see for yourself whether the process we describe is as efficient as you might expect.
We are proud to say that most clients have this first try and stay with us for long.
Sworn Translations
In what cases will you need certified German translation services? Well, German official institutions (educational, legal, governmental bodies, and so on) accept only sworn translations, and this is a strict rule.
The package includes the sworn translation itself, the original document (or copy), and the sworn translator’s affidavit to certify that the translation is complete and accurate, and does not contain any omissions or distortions to the best of the translator’s knowledge.
If you have an official document to translate (a diploma, a birth certificate, or a power of attorney), HumanTranslation will find a good sworn translator into German or English for you. Just send your document to our manager, and we will take care of it while you are busy with some other important aspects of your life or business.
Our Specializations
We believe that our customers should get hassle-free service. Don’t bother yourself thinking whether we can translate the document you have. Send it to our manager who will look at it and get back to you, and you can specify your particular needs then (if any), like formatting or style issues.

Financial, Legal, Marketing, Technical, and Medical translations – we have a pool of translators for each of these specializations (and much more!) who have the relevant certifications, experience, and background.
If you need a specialist with a narrow specialization field (chromatography, clinical trials, airplane maintenance), you can say that to our manager, and we will do our best to find a translator who has sufficient experience in the area to satisfy your demands.
However, most clients just say that they need translation services German to English or English to German and entrust us with the job that needs to be done and get back the text translated by a competent specialist.
Language Facts
- All nouns are written with a capital letter! An English-speaking person feels like reading a text full of proper names at the start, but… these are just common nouns.
- German is the language of writers and thinkers! From Goethe to Nietzsche – you will find a lot of truly remarkable German authors.
- Foreigners are usually fascinated by long words in German, like Donaudampfschifffahrtsgesellschaftskapitän that simply refers to a captain of the steamship company working on the Danube.
- German has the status of an official language in 5 European countries! Besides Germany itself, these include Belgium, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, and Austria.
- The funny thing about German time is that it is 30 minutes in advance! If you say halb neun (half nine), it means 8:30 and not 9:30 as is the case in English.
- There are words that exist only in German, like Fernweh (longing for travel & adventures) – probably the state of soul of many present-day digital nomads, or Torschlusspanik – the fear that time is passing and your efforts avail to nothing, and you have to do something urgently before it’s too late.
- Textbook German is something you will hear in Hamburg but not in Bavaria: there are even jokes that films with Bavarian dialect should be shown to the rest of Germans with subtitles!
Language Tips:
Beware of passive voice. Whenever you can use the active voice in your translation, stick to it as the phrases in the passive sound clumsier in most cases and may be understood in the wrong way. The use of active voice always makes the meaning more understandable.
Be careful when you translate clichés, jokes, or proverbs. Even if you have found perfect variants and you are sure they will be understood by the target audience, mark these places and look back at them when you finish the translation. Do they really fit the content and style? What do they add to the text? And if you think that these may sound out of place, you’d better find some creative replacement for them. There is nothing worse than an attempt to be witty or funny that failed.
Suppose that you get a document imbued with idioms, humor, or slang words. What should you do? Well, we usually recommend that our translators ask the client about the desired style and the target audience who will read your text as there could be different implications if you adopt a taciturn attitude and will simply translate as you think fit.
